Tax Liability and CEOs
July 4th, 2012 . by adminA decision has come down from the courts which might cause some changes in the way some CEOs operate as far as payroll taxes are concerned as the courts disagreed with a man’s tax lawyers who argued that the man couldn’t be held responsible for his company’s failure to send in payroll taxes to the IRS because he wasn’t in charge of absolutely every type of daily activity at the company. Even though the man claimed otherwise, the courts argued that he probably knew anyway that the payroll taxes weren’t being paid correctly even though he wasn’t in charge of writing the checks.
